Last Minute Staycations: Day Spas

A trip to the day spa is a quick, easy and relaxing way to rid yourself of the stress and constant movement of living in New York City. There is nothing that screams relaxation like a nice, LONG massage by a certified specialist. Services vary in day spas throughout the tri-state area, but the standard package can include facials, mani's, pedi's and more.

 Day spas have also been known to provide holistic treatments with Swedish wraps, hot stone massages, chemicals peels and colonic. For our last minute staycations segment, we are highlighting some of the hottest (and affordable) day spas throughout the 5 borough. Book your appointment and call in sick NOW!

Cynergy Day Spa
Cynergy Day Spa (website): Friends of SSNY swear by this Fort Green, Brooklyn Day Spa. Featured in Time Out Magazine, this premier spot's fabulousness can't be denied! With packages starting at $190 like "The Great Escape," (package includes 40 minute body massage OR Express body polish and more) and packages also equipped for couples, you are sure to the escape you were looking for with the rest of the day open for shopping or "just-for-you" time.

Escape Spa (website): This Riverdale, New York spa has some of the most diverse and extensive selection of massages, facials (a mini facials will cost you $45) and services, including semi-permanent makeup. Massage packages includes everything from Deep Tissue massages to Swedish massages and even their very own Escape Signature Facial. A Swedish massage for 30 minutes will run you $50, and they also include packages for Myofascial release, Acupressure, Sports massage, Shiatsu, hot stone massage (70 minutes for $125) and the most diverse of the bunch, cellulite reduction (the most costly of the bunch, this series starts at 7 sessions for $840).

Angel Spa (website): This spa is located in the heart of Astoria, Queens, right on Steinway street. Locals are known for frequenting this small but spacious spot for their European deep pore facials and their great monthly steals and deals. Their slogan "Manhattan services at Queens prices" is in no way misleading. This month's specials include an antioxidant facial for $78 (originally priced at $90), and a volcanic clay mud treatment with pedicure for $29.They also offer eyelash extensions that last up to 2 months ($199). 

Metamorphosis Day Spa (website): Allure, Self, TimeOut and Citysearch's Best Of New York 2010 have applauded  this Manhattan day spa for its hands-on therapeutic treatments, knowledgeable therapists, and nourishing Emerge Labs skin care products. The costly one of the bunch we've covered, their packages start with the hour and a half "Sampler Package," which will run you $150 (Includes: 25-minute swedish massage, mini facial, "Playing Footsie" foot massage and "Head Trip" Scalp massage.) Although a little pricey, this spa offers more extensive services, including a skin care store.



Remedi Spa (website): Last but certainly not least, this Staten Island based spa, located on Arthur Kill Rd., has services like permanent makeup, 3D eyelash extension, and more. Although costly, one of the packages we have our eye on the Renaissance - a complete deluxe Remedi treatment that combines Custom Facial, Cellutox Ocean Wrap, Hot Stone Massage, Spa Manicure & Spa Pedicure for the ultimate spa experience for $345. Couples can indulge in Reunite, their exclusive wedding special. The package includes a custom Facial, Body Sculpt Detox and Colon Therapy, Exotic Lime and Ginger Salt Glow, Hot Stone Massage, Spa Manicure & Spa Pedicure and Light Lunch for $440.
