Last Minute Staycations: Bed and Breakfast

She's So New York is celebrating "Last Minute Staycations," all this week and we are kicking off the festivities by letting you know about Bed and Breakfast places throughout the tri-state area, with a majority of them located in Brooklyn (another reason to love BK!). A bed and breakfast (or B&B) is a small lodging establishment that offers overnight accommodation and breakfast, but usually does not offer other meals. Typically, bed and breakfasts are private homes with fewer than 10 bedrooms available for commercial use. Did you know that there were several throughout the city? SSNY gives you some of their choice places:

Bed and Breakfast on the Park (website): Located in Park Slope, Brooklyn, this B&B offers a bevy of suites that are priced by season. Low season (Jan-March) prices start at $250 (depending on the suite) and high season (after Mar until Jan.) can cost up to $325. They offer suites like the Park Suite (seen right), as well as bedding that offers a view of their gorgeous garden. They offer twin beds, and additional bedding (prices may vary)

Saddle Down Bed and Breakfast: Several reviews of this Brooklyn B&B claim that its the best place for a downhome relaxing vacation. Located on Washington Avenue, this Clinton Hill B&B is a spacious, second-floor apartment that was converted into the city's only bed-and-breakfast with a distinctive Western theme.

East Village Bed and Coffee (website): Located on Avenue C (between 7th and 8th) in Manhattan, this bed and breakfast boasts some of the best scenic views, right in their own backyard. Their shared facilities include a full kitchen area along with free internet access and they also offer a wake up service as some of their services and immentities. They offer bicycles for recreation as well as a beautiful garden in their backyard.

Can't find what you like here? Search engines like Kayak, and Bed and Breakfast offer more options when looking for a BB according to location and pricing.
