Talking Glam With Glamm CEO: Your Summer, Your Way (MakeUp Edition)
Don't be afraid to combine different colors to get a more funk-a-licious look as long as you have a great sense of color coordination, making sure the colors work well with each other.
Keep the eyelashes simply coated with a brown or black colored mascara for an elegant look as you don't want to over do it and your cheekbones enhanced with a delicate shade of your favorite blush. To complete your look apply a nudelipstick or lip gloss and look fabulous!
Another great way to enhance your beauty is using a vintage style makeup with a little bit of a modernized twist. Attracting attention to your best facial features has never been easier than with this style of make up as the eyes and the mouth are a women's most seductive weapons so these are the facial features you will have to give most of the attention to.

It's another wonderful day to be a Fabulous New York woman!
Summer is here along with the dread of feeling less than fabulous with less clothes on. She's So New York wants to stress the importance of maintaining healthy habits and not just for the purpose of fitting in those short shorts. It's important to maintain a balanced diet and regular excercise as it helps with maintaining a healthy mind, body and spirit.

"Shape Up NYC," a FREE program catering to all in the Tri-state area, was created to provide New Yorkers with accessible free fitness classes in locations across the five boroughs. Starting May 17, Shape Up NYC classes are taught by expert fitness instructors with varied programs to choose from, including aerobics, yoga, pilates and zumba. No pre-registration is required, so just find the location in your neighborhood and start to Shape Up today.

One To Watch: King Britt

Every Thursday, She's So New York unleashes it's "One to Watch" series, where we debut the latest and greatest music from the ladies and gentlemen of the Big Apple and beyond!
Though I have a great affinity for 70s/80s R&B, funk and soul, house music is the bastard stepchild I’ve grown to love. Having said all of that Intricate Beauty is the latest from King Britt, a Philly-based DJ/producer (and former DJ for 90s hip hop pioneers Digable Planets) who’s become known for his downtempo-hiphop-infused-jazz-influenced grooves. And on Intricate Beauty he showcases some sweet gems as well.
Britt received a Pew Fellowship in the Arts award in 2007. Pew Fellowships in the Arts awards grants of $60,000 to Philadelphia-area artists working in a wide variety of performing, visual, and literary disciplines.

Today we feature The Big Girl Movement, Inc. a group of women determined to teach the world that size does not determine sexy, while helping plus sized girls everywhere learn how to love themselves and LIVE sexy. They are beautiful and SOOOO New York!
The Big Girl Movement, Inc. is a organization of positive determined women striving to make a difference in the plus size world. They are here to enforce that being 'phat' is in fact not a beauty disadvantage, but a beauty mark They represent plus women in a distinctive positive manner. Here at BGM (Big Girls Movement), diversity plays a very important role and they want women to know that you shouldn't try to replicate anyone else but yourself - every women is beautiful in their own way regardless of what people may think. You should accept yourself flaws and all!

Summer Album Review: Kelis "Fleshtone"
Kelis, Flesh Tone (A&M)

Kelis’ fifth album is remarkedly impressive. If you’ve followed the alternative soul and pop diva’s career since her 1999 debut Kaleidoscope, on through Tasty (2003) and Kelis Was Here (2006) along with lead singles “Caught Out There”, “Milkshake” and “Bossy”, respectively --then you know to come to expect the unexpected with the Harlem-bred songtress. Especially on this year’s electro-pop fave that is Flesh Tone.
Opening with strong electronic synths that set the tone of the record, it’s an album, in my humble opinion, she was born to make. It’s for the club set, the dance party, the riding-in-the-car-heading-to-the-beach summertime record; it is Euro-pop at is bloody best!
Recommended tracks: “Intro”, “4th of July (Fireworks)”(seen above), and of course the David Guetta-produced “Acapella” (below).
